QR Codes Should Be Fun

Writing and Internet Marketing are an interesting pair. Just about the time you think you have a firm hold on a concept, idea or project something else jumps out at you that you completely missed the first time around. This past week has certainly been one of those weeks.

QR Codes are new, innovative and wonderful for marketing and advertising, that I have already established in my writings. It wasn’t until I dove into some serious research over the past couple of weeks that the lights in my brain went off, once again. They are so much more than just a vehicle for advertising, inventory control, marketing and the technology savvy.

A long-time Mentor once said “if you truly want to know your product, write your sales letter first – then write your product”. I know, goes totally against the grain doesn’t it? Guess what? She is 100% correct. While writing (struggling would be a better choice of words) the sales last week I quickly realized that I did not have a firm grip on the product I was trying to produce.

I wanted it to be fun, innovative, interactive and most of all informative. IM was my target market for the product, based on the advertising and marketing uniqueness of using QR Codes. Results; new, innovative, cold, dull and definitely not a fun product. Back to the drawing board for this one.

Publishing in Late May

Then husband-logic set in (why is it they are always one step ahead on most things?). “You have a filing cabinet full of information and you can’t quit now (great, more logic for not talking about a product until it is 100% ready to roll out). Don’t rethink it, do what you do best, write a book instead and publish in early spring. Send out what you have already written as a FREE ecourse to build your list”.

Wow, this coming from a man that doesn’t know how to turn on or off a computer and has no clue what an ecourse or list is and is really limited on the concept of FREE. Pretty impressive. I know I’m setting a precedent here by taking his advice, something I am sure I will hear about for a long time to come (it hasn’t happen in 37 years, so why am I getting soft now?).

"I knew this would happen at some point"

So the QR Code Special Report is coming down, content has been added and it is now an 8-Part (once a week) eCourse delivered by email. The focus is no longer just advertising and marketing. We are going to have fun, an adventure or two and learn a lot about how to use QR Codes in our daily lives.
