The Yoast SEO Plugin
I just finished adding an article to the Internet Marketing section on this site by Dr. Jeanette Cates. So of course the next thing I did was to drop down to the SEO section of the page to play what I call the “Yoast SEO game”. You play by seeing how many sections you can generate numbers in, which key words makes the sections turn green. The more numbers, the greater SEO placement chances you have.
Surprise!
On this page I ended up with a green scored in “all the sections”, so it is a great page – right? WRONG! Okay, I will admit to also thinking to myself “wow, you are getting pretty good at this “Yoast SEO thing”. Then the Yoast SEO balloon popped – just like that!
- I looked up for the first time and noticed there are three (3) sections to the Yoast SEO Plugin.
- Amazing, after at least 30 webinars on how to use this plugin, and I finally notice there are three sections.
- Also amazing, the other two pages were never mentioned in any of those 30 calls.
- Lesson learned – when you download a plugin, take the time to get to know it and see what it can do to actually make your marketing easier. Below you will find the first page and then the second page.
Later in the week, I will go back and learn what the second page has to teach me. Then I will apply it and, do an update so you can see the difference. It will be interesting to see how much different the SEO placement numbers will be is before and after pages.
A previous lesson – well learned!
As for the third-section (also known as Advance), I think I will leave that one alone for maybe another year or so. I’m just not technologically there yet!
There is one thing you can say with certainty about Internet Marketing…it’s like a large puzzle of pieces that you have to learn how to put together.
