Welcome To...FAQ About Holly Cosmetics Bridal Services

IF IT PLUGS IN – do not use it in the bridal-ready room. (The last wedding that plugged in curling irons and hair dryers resulted in a “small” fire.  The Bride and bridesmaids ended up wearing tux jackets and heels, while the guys wore their shirts, vests and pants.  Made for very interesting wedding photos).

The “I want to use my own makeup” question. The bridal party is welcome to bring their own makeup if it makes them comfortable, and I will use it UNLESS the Bride has requested a pre-designed look for the wedding party using the Holly Cosmetics makeup line.

ALL MAKEUP belonging to the wedding party MUST be stowed securely and out of service before the Bride puts on her gown.

The Friends and family plan…I do request that if the Bride has secured my services for the day that the bridal party, friends and/or family do not put their finishing touches on the bride’s makeup at the last minute.  I am more than open to suggestions and will do them IF it will for work for the Bride and not interfere with the photography. If it will not work for the bride, I will explain why to the person that made the suggestion.

THE SCHEDULE – I work on a very tight schedule and expect each member of the bridal party to respect the schedule by being there on time.  If that is not possible, please have the person switch time slots with another bridal party member.  Being even three minutes late will mess up the schedule, so my rule is this and it is etched in stone.  If you are not there at the appointed time, I will move onto the next scheduled person (if they are available – if not, I catch my breath).

o The person missing their appointment time should bring their own makeup and do their own makeup application, in their   own space.  If at all possible, I will refine and touch up their makeup at the end of the schedule.

o A MISSED APPOINTMENT IS STILL A PAYABLE APPOINTMENT.

Food and drink in the bridal-ready room is okay, but it should be contained to one small area and away from the makeup and clothing.  I cannot do makeup on a person while they are eating. Once the bridal party starts dressing, I strongly suggest all food be removed from the bridal-ready room.

Do my bridal party members have to do trial makeup appointments?
o The wedding day goes so much smoother if everyone in the bridal party comes into the store for a pre-wedding consultation and makeup trial.
o That way, your makeup can be charted for the actual wedding day.  You will know what it looks and feels like and be more comfortable.
o However, it is not a rule or requirement.  In 45-years of doing weddings I have had only one bridesmaid pitch a snit about her makeup.
o The pre-wedding consultations and makeup trials run $25.00 each and are done in-store and by appointment only.
o We book Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
o We are closed Sunday and Monday. To book your appointment please call 502-721-0396
