Did I Miss The Memo?

Apr 17, 2011 by

I’ll be the first to admit I am not anywhere near being an IM insider and there is a whole lot of information that gets by me on a daily basis. But since mid January of this year, the messages in the emails I receive daily have changed drastically. Not to mention the multitude of sales letters I read each week  (for educational purposes – I’m on an austerity(?) program). They ALL look like they have been cookie-cut from a new must-send-out-this-personal-information cutter of some sort. That is why I’m asking if I missed the mid-January memo.

It’s a given that IM and I are never going to see eye-to-eye when it comes to  how things should be done business wise. And that’s okay. We all have our own way of getting where we want to go. Only we are responsible for getting ourselves to that place, no one else.

Maybe it is a cultural thing. Being from the South has it’s own set of rules when it comes to things we talk about and share. But I don’t think that is it, because a lot of IM people are from the south or at least live there now.

The Bottom Line Question Of The Day…

I’m just not, nor will I ever be ready to share my Pay-Pal or Click-Bank statements, Checking account register or open my ”books” to anyone and I really don’t care to see anyone else’s.  So why is this new trend so out there and in our faces everyday? Am I the only one that feels this way? What happen to the set a product  retail price and maybe offer an introductory price to launch it?

Why are marketers using what I call the “lotto” method of marketing all of a sudden? I can’t tell you how many products I have passed up during the past few months because of this method. Maybe it’s because I’m not quick enough to get the “great” up front price, or the “okay” price a few hours later. But I do know one thing for sure, I refuse to buy at the ______ (you get to fill in the blank with your own word) price.

“I get it”! I know I am a newbie and I live at the bottom of the earning pecking order when it comes to IM. But that does not mean I want to be reminded of it  30 or 40 times times a day,  when I should be working-my-business.

What Is Your Agenda?

Of course we all have our own agenda when it comes to IM. For some it is product creation, others focus on article writing, productivity, speaking, book writing, education and so the list goes, on and on. The opportunities are endless. Yet we all seem to have a couple of things in  common – we are creative people and we work hard for the income we generate. Anyone who thinks this is a nine-to-five job needs to think again.

I enjoy the process of learning, doing and yes, actually earning on a daily basis. I just completed by tenth-month of IM and again, I will admit I have a very long way to go before I can consider calling myself anything but a professional writer and life consultant.

When all is said and done, it is the new friendships and colleagues I have gained over the past ten months that make this an almost-year of personal success. I hope you are taking the time to enjoy the learning, doing, earning and friendship  process along your personal journey in IM.
