Blog Content To Live For
Is your blog content something your readers live for? When was the last time you read the first of a series formatted article and remember thinking it would like an eternity until the next installment would be published, so you could finish it? That is what I term content to live for. For me, that is what writing is all about, engaging the reader to the point that they want to return to your work, just to see what you are going to write next. In other words, blog content to live for.
A lot of great writers start out that way, especially in the novel genre. Unfortunately, most fall by the wayside is cookie cutter novels after the first five or six successes. The is one writer in particular I enjoyed following until I figured out she must have a computer program where she plugs in the character names, city and state and the computer kicks into overdrive and cranks out an instant novel overnight.
Is your blog content writing falling into the same trap? Gone are the days of an online writer finding a few keywords to stuff into an article or post and think it will pass the editors or seo Gods.
Blog posts and articles for 2012 should focus on bringing your reader into the content, keeping them engaged and interactive. Especially if you are concerned about scaling the Internet ratings charts.
Start with some simple questions to clarify what you need to be writing. Do you really understand the needs and wants of your target market? Did you choose your niche based on the keyword sales potential alone? If that is the case, you will be hard pressed to empathize and understand that market, no matter how many keywords you find, unless you have walked in their shoes at some point in life.
It is hard to become-the-expert when you have no clue what the problem is in detail and have found a solution that would help. It is imperative to share your personal story in understanding the problem and how you want to help in order to gain the trust and following of a client.
You need to show your passion for the topic through your personality. Your goal is to enlist engagement by your readers. It doesn’t matter if they agree or disagree with you or the topic, as long as they engage in the conversation.
Do you worry about the needs and wants of your target market? How important do you feel it is to have a passion for your niche? Are you living and working your true passion? If you are not doing so now, what is your passion and how will you develop it into your future work?
